Exide Technologies Production Scheduler Buyer in Columbus, Georgia
The position will be responsible for cycle counting, scheduling, and purchasing material for various parts of the manufacturing plant.
Perform cycle counts on various items in the inventory on a routine basis as the frequency is stated in the cycle count procedure.
Daily performs audits of production in JDE.
Purchase inventory parts based on the MRP system in JDE.
Schedules departments in the plant to satisfy the demand of customers or forecast.
Maintain production documents according to the records retention policy.
Check and maintain shipping reports and expedite rush shipments.
Enter batteries received from plant into locator.
Assist Materials Manager with the inventory control by training new employees that may enter production into JDE.
Assist the Materials Manager with the generation of SOP (standard operating procedures) as they relate to material movement & storage.
Assist with month end close and any other special projects as requested.
Manage production schedule to ensure on time shipping and delivery of orders.
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:
Highly motivated individual with good communication and presentation skills.
Ability to interface with all levels of employees and customers.
Good computer skill including use of Word, Excel, Access, JDE and other software.
Initiative and willingness to take on multiple projects.
Ability to read and understand company policies and procedures. Effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and management. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the work that needs to be performed. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, plant and Corporate polices and procedures.
While performing the duties of this job, individual is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and some lifting is required. Vision requirements: close vision due to working with a computer. Respirator wear may be required in certain areas of the plant.
While performing the duties of this job, individual will be working in both the office and on the plant floor (production area).
