Exide Technologies Deployment and Allocation Planner in Milton, Georgia

Overview

This position is responsible for planning and scheduling the replenishment of the regional distribution centers (branches or other Exide Inventory Points as developed) as well as other activities to optimize customer service and inventory.

  • Plan and manage inventory in the regional distribution centers to insure that inventory is aligned with demand at the sku level to support high in-stocks and customer fill rates.

  • Utilize the JDA fulfillment system to replenish the regional distribution centers. Maintain the JDA replenishment system including inventory safety-stocks, sourcing, lead-times and other parameters to insure that system-generated replenishment orders are properly computed.

  • Review and confirm daily releases of scheduled replenishment orders and monitor the execution of orders to assure timely supply.

  • Establish excellent communications with the Regional Operations Directors and DC managers to identify any issues that may arise. Proactively identify current and potential supply issues that may impact service, using supply chain systems, analysis, reports and frequent communications with Supply Chain. Resolve issues, working across functional boundaries when needed.

  • Provide feedback to assist teams in achieving customer service goals. Build relationships with business partners and develop an awareness of promotions, special orders, new product launches, item transitions, etc.

  • Monitor the performance of regional distribution network; quality of inventory, on-time shipment performance from central DC’s to the regional distribution network and to customers. Assist with managing item transitions in branch/hub network to minimize risk of obsolete inventory and maximize truck utilization. Make recommendations to improve inventory and service performance.

  • Contribute to the Sales & Operations process, preparing for and actively participating in meetings.

  • Key areas for results include on-time fill-rates, quality of inventory and in-stocks.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or similar field.

  • Minimum of two- five years of work experience in Planning, Supply Chain, Operations or Military.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.

  • Responsive to customer needs and acts with a sense of urgency to provide feedback and resolve problems.

  • APICS certification or equivalent, desirable.

  • Knowledge of ERP and Planning systems. Specific knowledge of JD Edwards and JDA is desirable.

  • Skilled using Microsoft Excel and other office programs.

  • Travel limited (<20%).
